Mike Bloomberg has spent close to half a billion dollars in campaign ads, this is a record in American politics; yet he was destroyed on the debate stage last night in Nevada. The democratic primary debate last night in Nevada was one of the most watched and entertaining debates in modern American history. This is not an exaggeration; never before has one of the richest men in the world (Mike Bloomberg) come face to face against 2 anti-billionaire superstars (Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren).
Bloomberg attacked in the first seconds
From the time the debate started Mike Bloomberg was on the defensive, Elizabeth Warren pummeled him with tough questions about his crude sexual comments, racist policies and arrogant use of his vast fortune.
Bloomberg at one point looked like he may walk off, he issued apologizes and was basically left standing impotent. It is hard enough having one anti billionaire to deal with, but Bloomberg had to fend off 2, in Warren and Sanders. Mike Bloomberg had no answers, he weakly defended himself and continually offered apologizes. At one point the former Mayor looked completely confused and seemed to be wondering when the assault was going to end.
Bernie Sanders attacked Bloomberg about his vast wealth, which had allowed him to receive huge tax breaks. Sanders also pointed out that Bloomberg continually fought against the raising of the minimum wage. Amazingly, all this happened before they got into Bloomberg’s horrible racial stop and frisk policy, which targeted African American men who were walking on New York streets.
Elizabeth Warren mentioned the secret agreements multiple women had to sign while working for Bloomberg,, these non disclosure agreements (NDA) silencing them from publicly speaking out about sexual abuse in the work place.
The best thing would be to sit down and watch the full debate right here. I have included the full debate below.
Avoid internet clips of the debate, watch the whole debate
Do not fall for little clips on the internet; watch the WHOLE thing and judge for yourself.
It will be remember as one of the most popular debates of all time, I believe.
